I see some names I am already familiar with and eagerly look forward to connecting with the others and reading your fabulous posts and stories.

A big warm welcome to you all. Now go invite your friends to join Coffee Times as well. Come, let’s go to one of the nicest streetside bakeries in my area — my treat! Their mango mousse rocks!

Let me introduce our awesome team of editors

You will meet us all throughout the week as we publish your posts. More about our team here.

Winston — you know him. He’s the Chief behind the scenes cooking up all sorts of nice-nice things and exciting stuff for our writers. He’s the man with a plan. He belives that if you can dream it, you can do it.

Yana Bostongirl helms the Life column and dazzles you with her soul-searching prompts and words.

Drashti Shroff delves deep into our writers’ lives and interviews them for our Interview column.

Dr. Preeti Singh is our amazing Brand Ambassador and Editor at large — watch out for her editor’s picks every Friday.

Sharing Randomly manages the Travel column and takes you on world trips via prompts and travelogues.

Marrisa W.’s Book column is for the bookworms among us. Watch out for her prompts and book recos.

Vincent Van Patten heads the Inspiration column — join him for lovely prompts as he “pursues what lights his soul on fire”

Ashley is our newest editor who is in charge of the Entertainment column where you can enjoy music, movies and just about anything related to entertainment.

Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles — yours truly — as I already said — is always watching you so she can highlight your amazing posts in her weekly roundup. She’s always asking “Did you smile today?” (now’s your time to comment and let her know)

Now, let’s look at how to enjoy yourself as a Coffee Times Writer

You already know that Coffee Times is one of the fastest-growing publications on Medium.

Did you know we regularly feature our writers’ articles in our exclusive Substack newsletter?

Yes! Because we want to showcase your work not just through our highlights and weekly roundups and on social media, but also put you on a pedestal and tell all our subscribers.

Checkpoint: Did you sign up for our Substack newsletter?
Yes — great. No — do it NOW!

Other things on your onboarding checklist are:

Please read the points below. There will be a test and you will all be graded.

Source

1. Read the submission guidelines.

They’re easy enough. I am assuming you read Medium’s rules when you joined as a writer. The same holds good with a few interesting extras.

2. Credit your images properly

To ensure that your drafts are published speedily, make sure you credit your images properly as per the guidelines

3. The shoutout requirement

Add a shoutout to another writer on Medium in your posts with a link to one of their articles. If you are wondering why, here’s the how, why, and what the shoutout is all about. But in one word — YOU benefit.

4. We promote you on social media

Coffee Times is a cross-platform publication and we amplify your stories by circulating them and featuring them on our social sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). To help you build a stronger network, understand how we select and feature your work across different platforms.

5. Coffee Times contests and challenges

Coffee Times has regular challenges/contests that help you grow as a writer. I urge you to participate in them. The latest one is CC4 — all you need to do is tell us your favorite music, movie, or musical and stand a chance to become a Coffee Times editor. Cool, right? Here are the details:

5. Still feel a little clueless?

We’ve got a comprehensive startup guide just for you.

6. The secret to your success

Do you want to skyrocket your presence at Coffee Times (as well as across Medium)? Here’s the secret: Submit and publish your profile article with us. It will earn you extra $$ as well as help us to profile you and your work at our social sites so you can get more eyes and exposure to an external audience. Check out examples of those that have already done it below.

7. Subscribe to our newsletter

To be the first to know what’s happening at Coffee Times, sign up for our newsletter. You never know, you might be in it!

Have questions?
Bring them in! We are here to help!

Once again, a warm welcome to you all!
