I am always amazed at how much we can remember from our lives, when we pause to recall. What a story, Deb. Beautifully narrated! I found myself smiling at your mom's shellacked hair and your admiration for her. Also, interesting how siblings never catch on to so many things that seem obvious at the time. I love reading your memoirs.
