I welcome any enhancements to the editor that makes life easier for the writer. But if the algorithm is going to look at visual appeal instead of the story interest--I find that quite meh! At this point, we can only wait and see.

As far as content creation goes -- Google also focuses on visual appeal but it also looks at the value of what is written. I know that as a blogger and website owner outside of Medium.
