Inspiring Reads You’ll Love
My weekly roundup of inspiring stories — 15
As I wrote the subtitle there, I was thrilled to see this is my fifteenth roundup! I am truly blessed to be connected to so many talented and generous writers here who are supportive and make me feel as if I am coming home every time I read their posts.
What can I say? To my list of happy places, I have now added Medium. Thank you to those of you who commented and lifted my spirits. I have to say I miss my son, but of course, I am also happy he’s growing in a new environment. Sure he has some starting trouble settling down — after all, it is a new country and a new culture. No matter how open-minded we are, there are adjustments to make, aren’t there? Fortunately, he acclimatizes fairly easily. For our part, we’re sending him good vibes all the time.
We’re feeling the space at home — the loving space he filled with his presence. I cannot help feeling choked when I open the fridge and find the cheese he won’t be eating; my eyes fill up when I make the grocery list and it looks lonely because I will buy none of the things he enjoys. Sigh. I guess we’ll all settle down to our new reality. I am so very grateful for the technology that keeps us connected.
Let’s connect with some fantastic posts now, shall we? I keep thinking I should categorize them but then I’ve always loved to mix and match. Enjoy!
Jill (Conquering Cognitions) valuable post is a must-read. Indeed sadness and depression are not the same.
B.R. Shenoy’s post took me down a very pleasant memory lane. But of course my main TV viewing for almost ten or twelve years was on the cartoon channels.
BichoDoMato’s post is a great read — in fact, this was the first post I read by him. He’s engaging, fun and humorous!
And if you are trying to figure out Twitter, here’s a comprehensive post from Ellie Jacobson to help.
Have you ever wished for a schedule that allowed you more time to be productive and gave you freedom? Trista Signe Ainsworth shares the concept of Weekend Wednesdays that I absolutely loved.
By the way, if you tend to experience anxiety, there are things you can do to overcome it. Read Evelyn Lim’s post for a breakdown of how to recognize the signs and what to do.
Zeenat Merchant Syal, in her post, explains why beautifying your soul is the best decision you will ever make.
And if you are overcome by shoulds, it is time to take back your life, advises Sandra. Cannot argue with that!
Here’s a beautiful poem from Thief
I found Diana C.’s post about the Hopi Tribe quite intriguing.
Ever wondered what’s up with the doctor’s handwriting? Barb Dalton’s post had me laughing. Then I sobered up.
Srini’s post about people who clap and run with have you rolling around laughing!
More laughs here in Ali Hall’s post! Yes, Everything is possible!
Let’s join JM Heatherly for a spot of tea now, shall we?
By the way . . .

That’s it for now! Have a fantastic week ahead!
Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles ❤ Did you smile today?
I love Medium and the wonderful writers I engage with. One of the reasons I write is to support underprivileged children. Sadly, the Medium Partner Program is not open to writers based in India. Would you consider buying me a cup of coffee? Thank you so much!
