Daily kindness reminder

Read to an elderly person with failing eyesight

Kindness does not have to cost a thing

--

Please read to an elderly person with failing eyesight. You have no idea what it means to them. Just a few minutes will do. And it will cost you nothing, except a little effort and some of your time. Carry the happiness of having done something wonderful in your heart forever, along with the person’s gratitude.

While you are at it, encourage your kids to read to their elders/grandparents. No better way to raise a reader — a kind reader.

My mother was a voracious reader. During her last days, due to various health complications, her eyesight deteriorated. She couldn’t read. This upset her so much. We were still not familiar with audiobooks at the time. But we found another way to bring her joy. We became her audiobooks and took turns to read to her. I have lost count of the number of times she blessed us throughout the day.
