I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live in It ~ Jess Kimball Leslie

I look forward to writing this post every week now. As I number the sub-title, I realize how quickly time seems to be passing. Of course, Time is relative depending on what we’re doing. For those who wait, it is slow. And for those of us whose to-do list is brimming over, there never seems to be enough of it.

In spite of all the running around away from my screen this week, I am glad I made the time to catch up with at least some posts on Medium. I enjoy my favorite writers’ posts with a mug of strong coffee. I like how easy it is to go from story to story — sometimes via the writer’s recommendation and sometimes via someone’s comment on a post, because the comments are often as interesting as the posts and I want to know the person behind those words.

Also, I realized I have some regulars on my weekly list now. I like to think of them as my own community whose posts I enjoy reading every day even as I slowly and steadily expand my circles. Isn’t that the whole point of interaction — building community?

For now, please join me in applauding in the following gems. They’re thought-provoking and heart-warming — I think you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!

Let’s start with Katie Michaelson’s story of a simple act of kindness.

Ali Hall’s You Have More Value Than Just Your Marriage and Parental Status had me literally standing up and clapping!

Diana C.’s I Forgive You, But Please Escort Thyself From My Existence asks: how can you learn to forgive people for treating you poorly whilst continuing to uphold the boundaries you set in response to their poor treatment?

I loved my walk with Adrienne Parkhurst.

Leilani Belle asks if you are a starter, doer, or finisher in her post and that got me thinking.

And LS’s words will definitely be making an impact!

Sandra Pawula recommends 21 ways to slow down and enjoy life more — I practice everything on her list and love the experience.

Zeenat Merchant Syal, M.A, M.Sc explores Why We Worry and offers 6 Simple Ways to Overcome it.

Evelyn Lim’s post about 5 Negative Self-Talk Patterns with examples made me feel slightly guilty.

JM Heatherly’s posts are always a joy for me — I learn something new each time and of course he serves it up with a refreshing cup of tea.

I was thrilled to see Liz Porter’s publication, Boomerangs for the over-50s and enjoyed some of the posts there. Yep, asked to be added as a writer!

That’s a wrap for this week.

Here’s wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. What have you got planned?
