True! it certainly feels good! I have top writer status in Ideas, Reading and Photography. You are right about losing the badge if one's not consistent. When I was active in Medium back in 2018 and was writing for The Startup I got a whole bunch of badges (psychology, personal development, inspiration and philosophy, and a few more) I was pretty pepped. Then life happened and I had to go on a Medium hiatus.
