When You Buy Me A Coffee
Please remember the following — thank you ❤

If you are paying from outside India, after you click that nice orange button, you’ll get a popup like the one you see below:

Choose the “pay with card” option.
If you live outside India and choose the first option that says Pay ₹375, your payment will not go through because it offers options for those based in India. You may get the message “ international cards not accepted”.
A couple of days ago, buymeacoffee.com emailed me to inform me that they are discontinuing their partnership with PayPal. Here is the email.

Now, Stripe is not an option as I am based in Inda.
If it was, I’d also be eligible to join the Medium Partnership Program.
But NO, because Stripe India does not allow us to receive international payments.
However, as the kind folks at buymeacoffee.com suggested, I signed up for a Payoneer account (affiliate link) to enable the receipt of international payments.
To someone buying me a coffee, this shouldn’t make any difference since the process for the giver does not change.
If you are paying from India, you choose the pay ₹375 option. And if you live outside India, you choose the “Pay with card” option.
I thought I would publish this post to help others in case they face an issue buying someone coffee since this affects all writers based in India who use the buymeacoffee.com link.
Thanks to Adrienne Beaumont, I became aware of this as she was kind enough to go buy me a coffee. I really wish she did not have to go through the experience she described. (Sorry, Adrienne ❤)
Thank you.
P.S.: In case you do decide to buy me a coffee and face a problem, please let me know.

One of the reasons I write is to support underprivileged children. Currently, the Medium Partner Program is not open to writers based in India. Would you consider buying me a cup of coffee? ☕ You can also use Ko-Fi. Thank you so much!
